Recovery point objective
RPO asks how far back the business can afford to recover. A shorter target usually requires more frequent protection and a closer look at replication, retention, and application consistency.
Recovery time objective
RTO asks how long the business can tolerate the service being unavailable. Test the full path—including access, dependencies, validation, and the decision to return the service—not only the data transfer.
